7 Braids You Will Want To Do Right Now

Raise your hand if you know how to do a regular braid and that is all you can do!

I am right there with you guys… I definitely need to up my braiding game. Like, yesterday.

I tend to “get by” with doing my hair, but that means always doing the same thing. I am not much of an experimenter, because I tend to get stressed when I can’t get a hairstyle to work for me on the first try. Since I can’t get it on the first try, my hair gets all funky because I’ve been playing with it for awhile, and my whole good hair day goes down the drain. Bummer!

I am constantly checking out Amber Fillerup Clark’s braids at Barefootblonde.com, and she makes it seem SO incredibly easy. Why not give hers a try?!

Below, I am adding my favorite braids, from Amber’s site to ones I found on Pinterest. This might be a far stretch, but I think these could all be doable. Just give me an entire day off to experiment, and then maybe I can get these braids down.

If I ever do, I will be sure to post. 🙂

Green Beauty Target Finds

You guys!

I have been so excited to share this post with you because, well, these products are just that great! I love a great, all-natural find at a store where they know me by name. Just kidding. But really, I love Target, and if there was one in my town, they just might. 🙂

Anyway, after moving back to Alabama from Germany, I was dying to get to Target and browse. It had been so long since I was able to have a variety of options on items. I was always resorting to whatever I could find on Amazon with free shipping. After awhile, that got extremely old because I wasn’t getting my Amazon Prime promise of “2 day free shipping” since I was located in Germany, and I wasn’t buying products I truly wanted.

Now that I am in America, I get those Amazon Prime perks back, but I also get the perks of going into my favorite stores. Win, win!

I had a whole list of items, some of which are here and here. One of the items I found was not on my list, but on every other natural beauty blogger’s list. So naturally, I had to have it.

All three of these products were bought in February and I still have lots of every product left.

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub: This one was never on my list, but was recommended by everyone else out there who knows anything about beauty products. It is definitely a winner in my eyes! The consistency is pretty perfect. It isn’t too fine where you barely feel like your face is getting a good scrub, but it isn’t ripping your skin to shreds. We all know there are products out there that do that! It brightens and makes my skin feel so fresh and so clean, clean. It really feels like my skin is new.

Zoe Organics Cream: This cream works wonders on my dry skin. My hands and elbows get super dry year round, so I mostly use this cream for those parts of my body. It has a great texture, but still feels like coconut oil does when you rub it on your skin. For this reason, I only use it on smaller areas. BUT, it is pretty amazing on those areas. It is small enough that I keep it in my purse and whenever I need it, I scoop out a small amount and lather!

Physician’s Formula Mascara: I had a hard time trying to find the perfect mascara. Reading reviews after reviews and watching Youtube videos after Youtube videos, I finally settled on Physician’s Formula. This stays on throughout the day, doesn’t clump, and doesn’t smear. I have noticed that if I’m having a busy day (I work at an animal shelter) and running around constantly, then my bottom lashes might look a little smudged underneath, but that isn’t terrible. All in all, I like this mascara and I will continue buying it (since it is easily accessible at stores) until someone sells me on another.

Let me know if you have any favorite Target finds!

Green Skincare For Glowing Skin

Thanks to the amazing, organic, all natural bloggers out there, I have had the privilege to stare at my computer screen all day long for the past few days, dreaming of these wonderful products they recommend. I’m the kind of person that will find a great product, but keep searching for something better, or something new. I love to see what kind of safe, luxurious products are out there, that aren’t as expensive as the name brand kinds. The ones that people only buy because of a celebrity endorsement or because of the price tag. The ones that are actually not safe.

I am pretty sure I have become an insomniac, due to not being able to stop looking at these beautiful products. I cannot wait until I have a permanent address (less than a month) and can actually start ordering some of these beauties! Where am I going to start? I have no earthly idea, but the companies below are a great start!

Every company offers something different. Everything may not work for every individual person out there, but that is the fun part with experimenting! There are so many wonderful companies out there that offer safe, natural, and organic products.

The first step in choosing a company is finding out all you can about your skin and what it needs. Since my new-found obsession with all natural skin care, I have figured out what problem areas I need to work on to help better my skin.

I never use to pay attention to my skin. I honestly could never have told you if I had oily, dry, or sensitive skin. I know that is probably a pretty easy answer for all of you, but my skin changes often. When I was younger, I had oily skin for sure. I would always have to touch up my face with powder during the day because it would get so oily. That’s also why the breakouts happened. Now, I find that my skin is dry and sensitive. I can put lotion on my hands and face and feel the need to reapply it immediately. I feel like I can never get enough moisture to my body. The sensitive part is a new discovery. I find that using certain scrubs on my body will leave me feeling itchy, and my neck and chest will turn blotchy from anything that I use. I also like products that will brighten and even out my skin tone. Since I have freckles and sensitive skin, I find that my face always looks uneven. Products that fight wrinkles and under eye circles is a must as well! Finding products that work with my crazy skin is definitely going to be a challenge, but I am up for it!

A little background: Since moving to Germany a little over 2 years ago, I have had a myriad of problems that seemed to surface when I came here. I do not know if it was just the time in my life that all of these things were going to happen anyway, if it had to do with my lifestyle, or if it had to do with Germany. Okay, maybe it isn’t Germany, but I still have no idea. I have this drive to figure that out and it all starts with my skin care.

I never cared much about the products I was using. To be honest, I was a drugstore junkie. I loved walking through the skin care and makeup aisles trying out new products. My result? I am almost 25 and have yet to find a favorite drugstore brand of anything. I have never consistently used something, ever. That must say something! I wanted that to change. I want to wear products that I love. I decided that in order for me to love them, they have to be doing something good for me. I have to not feel gross when applying skin care products and makeup. I have to know that whatever I am putting on my body is working wonders for me. After all, I eat healthy, so why would I ruin that by putting chemicals on my body a different way?

Below are some great companies that I am so excited to try out! Let me know if you guys have tried anything from them and how it worked. If you haven’t, be sure to check them out! 🙂

2016 Must-Haves

Hey guys! I hope you are all having a fantastic day. After all, it is Thursday, which means tomorrow is Friday, hooray! I do have to go to the dentist tomorrow, so I don’t know why I am excited about Friday this week. I think the closer every weekend comes, the closer our moving date is to being here! 🙂

Anyway, today I wanted to share with you guys items that are on my birthday wishlist. (I will be 25 on February 1!)

Let me know if you have any of these products and can give me a review!

solesociety.com >> Sandals/Flats: I love a good sandal. You don’t even have to wear heels and your outfit will still be dressy! I love Sole Society because they are very chic and comfortable at the same time. I am looking forward to getting some sandals and flats for the summer!

boutiquetoyou.com >> Bkr Water Bottle: I have done my fair share of research with water bottles. I know that may sound silly, but I am not one to buy water bottles all the time. I prefer to use my own and fill it up at home. I found these bkr bottles and fell in love. They have amazing colors (I love the canary color), have a small opening like a normal water bottle, and are cute at the same time!

Stack of Yoga Mats

yoga.about.com >> Yoga Mat: I definitely need to invest in a decent yoga mat. I bought the one I have now and it is pretty cheap and already falling apart. Every time I use it, little pieces fall apart on it and end up all over my house! I really want to get into hot yoga, so I think a good yoga mat is the first step.

nordstrom.com >> Adidas Sneakers: This one may seem weird to some of you guys, but I have a recent obsession with these things! Since living in Germany, I have grown to wearing sneakers more often due to walking a lot. The fact that these can be super cute and comfy at the same time is a win-win in my book! Check out Amber FIllerup Clark’s page at barefootblonde.com, and you will surely be obsessed with them too.

physiciansformula.com >> Physicians Formula Mascara: I have seen so many great reviews about this mascara. On my recent post, Top Rated All Natural Makeup Products, I said I would let you guys know when I found the right one. Well, here it is!

nordstrom.com >> Clarisonic Mia Cleansing Brush: I know this is a big buy, but I am totally going to get this one day. I have never read anything bad about this product. Plus, Sophia Bush is an avid user with it and she has AMAZING skin.

Top Rated All Natural Makeup Products

Hey guys! Yesterday I posted about my favorite skincare products, and I think I found the best of the best out there! I promised that I would post about my favorite makeup products today, and I cannot wait to start ordering them.

  1. Tinted Moisturizer: 100 % Pure Healthy Skin Tinted Moisturizer in White Peach
  2. Foundation: Honest Beauty Everything Cream Foundation in Linen or Sand. I need to check out some more reviews on the best color for my skin.
  3. Concealer: RMS Beauty UN Cover Up in 11 or 22. Again, I need to check out which one will be the best for my skin.
  4. Contour: Honest Beauty Luminizing Powder in Dusk reflection
  5. Highlighter: Honest Beauty Luminizing Powder in Midnight Reflection
  6. Blush: Honest Beauty Creme Blush Truly Thrilling (no-makeup look) and Truly Charming (sun-kissed look)
  7. Brow Definer: Honest Beauty Brow Filler in Rich Brunette
  8. Eyeliner: Honest Beauty True Velvet Eyeliner in Truly Cocoa
  9. Eyeshadow: Honest Beauty Eye Shadow Trio in Sable Brown
  10. Mascara: I haven’t found the right one yet! When I do, I will be sure to let you guys know 🙂
  11. Lipstick: Honest Beauty Truly Kissable Lip Crayon (I love all of them!)

>> I am sure you guys see a trend.. Honest Beauty. I have not used any of their products, but after watching a million videos on reviews and tutorials, I am sold! I was sold on the mascara because it looks like it gives amazing definition and length, but then I saw a few reviews that it made people’s eyes burn when they washed it off. My face is super sensitive, so I am going to keep looking until I find the perfect mascara! Let me know if you guys have found any you love! One thing I am obsessed with on their website, is how they show every different shade of each product on a different skin tone face. Each shade you click on (no matter the product), you can click on the different faces to see how it looks with different skin tones! I also love that Honest Beauty has free shipping (check website for details), and you can return the product or exchange for a different one for free! I love this because I hate wasting money on a product that doesn’t match my skin tone. They also have Bundles which allow you to choose 3 products for $50! You can also order a free trial with the skincare products for just a $5.95 shipping charge.

>> As for the 100% Pure Products, I found the BEST reviews for the tinted moisturizer. I searched day in and day out through various bb creams, cc creams and tinted moisturizers and finally landed on 100% Pure. I did order the tinted moisturizer in white peach, but I am not sure if it will work with my skin tone. Like Honest Beauty, you get free shipping. You can test the product for 30 days and they will let you send it back for free, no matter how much you used, in exchange for a different product or a cancellation!

>> The RMS Beauty UN Cover Up made the list because I believe Olivia Munn uses this. She has such radiant, glowing skin and I love that. It is a little pricey, but it gets great reviews by everyone so I think this is the one product I will splurge on!

Let me know what you guys think and if you have any all natural beauty product favorites!
